General questions & integration
Do my users have to install anything?No! All of our solutions are browser based and do not require an installation or a download. The only prerequisite is that the user has a current version of Flash installed (from Version 8 on). But don't worry: According to a study done by Adobe, 98.8 % of all internet users already have it (source: adobe.com). However, if this should not be the case, our Flash detection will indicate the problem to your users and provide a current version for download. Do my users have to login or signup with stickapps?No! The user authorization takes place as usual by logging into your community. We do not receive any sensitive user data (e.g. E-Mail addresses of your users). Do you get any sensitive data from my users?No! stickapps does not receive any sensitive data (e.g. E-Mail addresses). No information except the username and the user ID used within your community is necessary. Which script languages do you support?Currently stickapps supports:

Can I implement stickapps in my Ning.com network?Yes! Please sign up with our friends from www.sitesuites.com, then register at stickapps.com and enter the ID and password from our customer backend into the Swijit Management System to activate stickapps on your Ning-network. You can find the ID and password next to the application in the integration section of our customer backend. Can I import friends and blacklists from the community?Yes! You import/synchronize friends and blacklists from you community with stickapps through our simply API. Please see our API documentation for more information. In which languages is the stickapps client available?stickapps is currently available in 32 languages:
What technology do you use?stickapps front end is based on JavaScript and HTML (no JAVA application). A free Flash plug-in (from Version 8 on) is needed for communication between users and for streaming video and audio content.
How much traffic is generated by the stickapps* IM?The stickapps IM causes no traffic or hosting costs for you at all, as the entire IM is hosted by us. Do you offer SSL encryption?We offer SSL encryption only upon request in our Enterprise version. You can apply for the enterprise version of stickapps if your community has at least 10.000 peak presence users on a regular basis. For more information please contact enterprise@stickapps.com Can I allow only premium users to chat? Can I prevent non-premium users from chatting?Yes! You decide who is allowed to use the IM and who not. This can be done by using our simple API. Please see our API documentation for more information. Do you support group chat as well?Our group chat solution is in public beta at the moment. Sign up and enjoy multi user chats with up to 25 people per room!
Payment, pricing & cancellationHow does the 15-day free trial work?Chose the LITE or the PRO version and you can try stickapps 15 days for free if you open a new account! You can cancel any paying account within 15 days after signing up and you won?t get charged at all. After 15 days, the normal 30-day billing cycle starts. Note: Changing your plan during the free trial period does not affect your 15-day trial! What is the refund policy?stickapps offers a free 15-day trial on all accounts (LITE, PRO). If you cancel your account during this period, you will not be charged at all. If you cancel your account after this period, you will be charged for the current billing cycle and no refund will be issued. Please note that there is no 15-day free trial if you are already an existing customer. Of course you can always upgrade, downgrade or cancel any time. What happens with the 15-day free trial if I upgrade from a FREE plan to a paying account?Upgrading from a free plan to any paying plan does not affect your trial. You are always granted a 15-day free trial if you have signed up at stickapps for the first time. If you are already a customer, you are not granted another 15-day free trial period. How can I cancel?You can easily cancel at any time with on click. Simply on ?cancel plan? for the application you would like to cancel. If you want to delete a site completely, click on ?delete site? and confirm on the next page that you understand that this is permanent and cannot be undone. Please note that after that, it is not possible to use the instant messenger on your site and we will delete all the preferences from our servers. How can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?Changing your plan is super simple. Just log in to our customer backend and click on ?change plan? for the application you would like to up- or downgrade. On the next page you can then chose your new plan. You can upgrade from any level to any level at any time. Please note that you will lose all settings for the features which are not supported in a lower plan (e.g. If you downgrade from the PRO to the LIT E plan, the IM will not feature your individual CSS design anymore.). Upgrades take effect immediately. If you were in a paid plan before, you will only be billed for the number of days of the current billing cycle in which you have been using your previous plan. If you downgrade you can continue to use all features of the higher plan until the end of the billing cycle when we will charge you one last time for this plan. If you downgraded to the LITE version we will then start billing you for the LITE version. I am not sure how many peak presence users I have. What can I do?Our pricing depends on the number of peak presence users (= max. concurrent users online) in your community who are logged in.
Advertising & ad view shareOnce you have implemented stickapps, you can always see the exact number of peak presence users of the current billing cycle in the statistics section of our customer backend. So if you are not sure how many peak presence users you have, simply sign up for our 15-day free trial and test stickapps without any risk. Also, if you have less than 10,000 daily visitors you will almost certainly not exceed 50 peak presence users. Please also remember that you can downgrade or cancel from any plan at any time. Is there an ad free version?Yes! If you want an ad free version, simply sign up for the PRO version of stickapps. If you have further questions, please contact sales@stickapps.com. How does the ad view share program (capping) work?If you chose the LITE plan of stickapps, you are free to display 50% of all ad impressions yourself. Simply copy your banner code into our customer backend and every second ad impression will be delivered by you. I get ads in a different language. What can I do?We always try to deliver ads in the language of the client but unfortunately we cannot guarantee this for all languages. For an ad free version or if you want to display your own ads, simply upgrade to the PRO version of stickapps. If you have further questions about the PRO version, please contact sales@stickapps.com. Can I influence the ads that are being displayed?We are always trying to display relevant, targeted ads but unfortunately it is not possible to remove individual campaigns in the LITE version. You can only remove all advertising (or display your own ads) if you sign up for the PRO version. If you have further questions about the PRO version, please contact sales@stickapps.com. Can I display my own ads?Yes! If you want to display or sell your own ads, simply sign up for the PRO version of stickapps and copy your banner code to our backend. If you have further questions about the PRO version, please contact sales@stickapps.com.
Terms of serviceAre you bound by a contract term with stickapps*?No! You can remove all of our applications at any time or upgrade or downgrade whenever you want. If you have a paid plan, you can cancel on any given day and we will only charge you one last time for the current 30-day cycle. Do you allow adult content?In our ad supported plans (FREE and LITE) stickapps does not allow any adult content (including 16+). Adult content is only applicable for the PRO version.
